My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOOKING FOR KINDNESS:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 48 lbs. & needs to gain more weight

Hi, I’m Bolton!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I don’t remember my past, but it seems clear that I didn’t live an easy life.  Well, the day I was rescued began my second chance and I’m happy about that!  I’m looking for an amazing family that loves the underdogs and wants to give me the best life!  I’m scheduled to go into the  prison/foster training program 12/13/24 off-site, so please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I haven’t shown a lot of personality just yet, but the volunteers can tell that I’m noticing how nice everyone is to me and while I’m in the prison/foster training program they will learn a lot about me. I have shown happy moments but I tend to hang my head lower which could be a social/submissive behavior from whatever my past was – so they are going to dedicate time to learn all they can about me and to encourage me.  I’m a good boy for my baths – just a little timid and unsure. / Energy level: 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Check back soon to see what I've learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so I think I’ll do well on a good schedule in my new home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I’ve shown some interest in toys, so perhaps we can find some together that I like. / I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in with some thin fur in a few areas, so I’m getting medicated baths twice a week which can be done in my new home.  I also came to MM very skinny but am being fed 4 smaller meals a day and have already gained 5 lbs., so I’m on my way to a healthy weight. I have mild/moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I’m looking for a great family to show me the love and care I missed out on before being rescued.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
