My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog- and Cat-Friendly!!!  Please meet the most adorable brother and sister pair:  Biscuit is the orange boy, Butter is the calico girl.  They are 100% bonded and need to be adopted together.

Biscuit is an absolutely adorable orange tabby boy with white paws.  He's about 10 weeks old as of 12/11/2024 and has medium-length fur.  He's also the biggest love bug you will ever meet!  Biscuit is outgoing, loves people and other cats, and has even met a dog and was totally unfazed by it! He's laid-back, playful and is a total cuddle bug with his people.  He's sweet, and chubby, and has the most adorable little face you've ever seen.  Biscuit is bonded with his sister, Butter. They do everything together, as you can see from the photos and must be adopted together.

Biscuit is also FIV+, but no worries! FIV+ cats can live a completely normal, healthy life, and it is only transmissible to other cats through deep bite wounds, which definitely won't happen because Biscuit is a lover not a fighter!  NOTE:  Biscuit is scheduled to be retested approx. 01/11/2025.

Butter is a sweet and petite calico girl with big eyes, and the loveliest temperament.  She's about 10 weeks old as of 12/11/2024 and is just the nicest little kitten you'll ever meet!  She warms up quickly to new people, likes other cats and has even met a dog with no incident!  She may be half a pound smaller than her chunky brother, Biscuit, but she holds her own when they wrestle and play together. She's also a sweet little lap cat with her people.

Butter is bonded with her brother, Biscuit. They do absolutely everything together, as you can see from the photos, and they must be adopted together.

The sibs are hanging out with their foster family in Woodlyn, PA for the time being, but meet and greets with pre-approved applicants can be arranged.

Please submit our no-obligation adoption for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you! (Foster:  Becca and Jason R.)

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

People can view our cats on-line and can see some of them in the adoption centers. An application can be for a particular cat or a TBD.

2.

Approve Application

Processing takes about 3-5 business days. Upon approval, a meet & great and/or adoption will be arranged.

3.

Meet the Pet

An approved app is needed to meet cats that are with fosters & those that are in our clinic/shelters, but not to meet adoption center cats.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

The adoption counselor will review the paperwork and the medical form with the adopter. This is a good time to ask questions before signing.

5.

Pay Fee

Adoption fees are based upon the age of the cat - kitten, adult, 7+ yrs. - how many cats are being adopted and special needs cats.

6.

Take the Pet Home

An adopted pet must be taken home in a carrier. If there are other pets at home, please give them a slow intro period of about 2 weeks.

Additional adoption info

All cats offered for adoption have been spayed or neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, dewormed and have received rabies and distemper vaccines.

During the application process, our volunteers will check vet info, medical history and rental contracts, if applicable, and personal references. Please allow up to 5 days for us to process your application.

Every cat has received at least $400.00 worth of medical treatment. Our modest adoption fees are:

$120.00 for 1 kitten
$210.00 for 2 kittens
$145.00 for 1 kitten and 1 adult
$60.00 for 1 adult cat under 7 years old

More about this rescue

Founded in 2003, Forgotten Cats, Inc. is the leading trap, neuter, vaccinate, return (TNVR) nonprofit in the region. Servicing Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, Forgotten Cats specializes in TNVR in order to humanely reduce the homeless cat population. Valuing all lives, Forgotten Cats is a no kill organization.

Forgotten Cats’ TNVR services involve working with colony caregivers to identify all cats within a colony, after which we trap, transport, sterilize, vaccinate, recuperate, and return feral cats to caregivers. Our goal is to stabilize each colony and ensure zero population growth. We achieve this by trapping and sterilizing every single cat in the entire colony.

About 20 percent of the cats that enter our clinics each year are not feral. Stray cats, or homeless domesticated cats, and feral kittens under 12 weeks old, are held and placed into our adoption network. With ten off-site adoption centers, our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to prepare our cats for adoption and ensure they go to loving, forever homes.

Forgotten Cats serves the community by offering affordable TNVR services, low cost spay/neuter services for pet & stray cats, and spay/neuter education.

Forgotten Cats has over 700 volunteers that are committed to helping this organization fulfill its mission. We receive no government funding, and depend solely on private donations, grants, fundraising events, and bequests to complete our mission.

Since 2003, Forgotten Cats has sterilized over 130,000 cats across the region, which has prevented the birth and suffering of millions of kittens. Additionally, we have placed over 14,000 cats into loving, forever homes. At our no-kill clinic/shelters, we welcome the FIV+ & FeLV+ cats, the blind, the 3-legged, the lost, those that have been abused, and those that have been abandoned. We offer love and hope to the Forgotten Cats from all walks of life.

Vision:
We envision a day when kittens are no longer born on the streets but rather in loving homes to responsible owners.

Mission:
Our mission is to humanely reduce the homeless cat population and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned, homeless cats.

Not quite sure you are ready to be a full-time cat parent? Please consider our foster program! You can care for a cat/kitten for as little as two days, a couple of weeks, or longer. It's up to you. Please contact us! https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/
