My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MELLOW ALERT! if you’re a “kick back” type of dog owner, Scotch would love to meet you! He’s a 3-year-old, 15 lb Chihuahua mix who’s looking for his forever home where he can chill and cuddle with his new family.

His foster mom says: “Scotch is such an easy dog! He’s quiet, can be shy at first, very sweet, and is a cuddler once he’s comfortable. He rarely barks, but he’s alert to sounds outside and will bark a couple times to warn his humans that he hears something. He adores other dogs and fits in beautifully with his foster siblings with zero issues. He’s just so happy to be in a home after his long trip from California where he was picked up as a stray.

“What Scotch is:
-A fan of going on walks to smell ALL the smells

-A laid-back companion who loves other dogs (he’d love to have a playful canine companion at his forever home, he enjoys playing with his foster siblings!)

-A squeaky ball aficionado (also loves chewy bones)

-Alert, observant, and curious

-Also a bit of a wizard. He crawled under my couch, so I immediately crouched down on the floor and looked under the couch to see what he was doing. BUT HE WASN’T THERE. I said, “Huh, where’d he go –” looked up and Scotch was sitting beside me, looking at me quizzically.!!

He’s not a fan of vehicles going by while going on a walk – they’re loud and scary to him. He would do best in a quieter neighborhood or have access to trails away from traffic.

He’s nervous about sudden movements, so we’d like to find him a home without small children.

Despite being such a smart doggo, no one took the time to housetrain Scotch, but he’s super smart and making great strides at his foster home!”

Come meet this absolute cutie pie, but only if you’re okay with squeaky balls!

Scotch is UTD vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
