Hi there! I'm Nova, a one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous black-and-white coat that’s bound to turn heads. I’m medium-sized but my heart? It’s huge! I’m super friendly and love hanging out with other dogs—I make friends everywhere I go. I’ve already had some foster home experience with God’s Dogs, and let me tell you, I crushed it. By appointment only. Our dogs are in the women's prison in Lockhart, Texas called The Coleman Unit.

More about this rescue

We are a prison located in Lockhart TX. We rescue dogs from rural area shelters and take them into the prison for training on basic obedience. They are also house trained and crate trained. Training is done by the women inmate handlers. A professional trainer comes to the prison weekly to teach the inmates how to train the dogs. Dogs live at the prison for 2-3 months, in the cells with the inmates, while they are being trained.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, spayed/neutered, microchipped and trained for basic obedience.
