Meet Maui, a handsome 7 years young neutered male boxer/terrier mix, weighing about 65 lbs! Maui's story is a sad one. He was taken from a home in east TN due to neglect after it was discovered that the teenager in the home was killing small animals for fun Fortunately, he was taken into rescue and has been doing amazingly well in foster care! He is now ready to find his furever home, where he will be safe and loved for the rest of his days.
Maui is a very sweet, friendly boy who is good with EVERYONE! He does great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.
From Maui's TN foster:
"I’ve been fostering Maui for a few months now. Nursing him back to health. His previous foster had cats and two dogs. He was only moved to me because his foster's senior cat did not like having him around and was peeing on his mom at night out of spite. No fault of Maui just an old grouchy cat.
He’s been at my doggie daycare since. He's done well with every dog I’ve introduced him to. (with proper intro). He is crate trained (he eats and sleeps in his kennel and is kenneled when no one is home) He knows how to use a doggie door and is housebroken. He is great with kids despite the situation he came from. He just loves to be loved."

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!
