My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy Howdy! My name is Scout and I'm a 20 pound, 3 month old Beagle. I was found abandoned with my 9 siblings in Virginia. Some of my siblings got adopted and some of us were lucky that 2 pilots volunteered to fly us to Michigan and now I am looking for my forever home!

I'm a little bashful but come around quickly! I love to play with all the toys and with other dogs. I haven't been around cats but I'm pretty sure I would do good. I might want to play with them. I would be good with children. I am very loving and playful but when I'm tired out I love to take a nap on the couch with you, or by myself if you are busy!! . I will need a FENCED IN yard to keep me safe as I could follow my nose with all the smells outside. I would love another dog to play with too!. I am working on potty training and doing pretty good, just make sure to have me go out first thing in the morning and then every few hours,

I am crate trained and I stay dry in it at night. I am micro-chipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines for my age. My adoption fee is $350.00. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
