My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Josie, the sweet and soulful black lab mix who is sure to win your heart! At 6 years old and 50 pounds of pure love, Josie is the ultimate sidekick, always by your side, following you from room to room, and soaking up all the affection you can give. She is one smart cookie too — she is already house trained, crate trained, and fluent in basic commands!

While she’s a sensitive girl who will thrive in a calm, patient home, Josie’s goofy side is sure to keep you smiling! Whether she’s digging at her bed or hopping with delight at a sliding glass door, her hilarious quirks make her irresistible. She loves her walks but is equally happy lounging in sunny spots or snuggling up indoors.

Josie adores every person she meets and does best with older kids who can appreciate her gentle nature. She’s ready to be the one and only in your life — no other pets needed, because she has plenty of love to give all on her own!

This big-hearted pup is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all her vaccinations and preventatives and is seeking a foster, foster-to-adopt, or forever home in the Midwest or adoption in New England.

Ready to welcome a loyal, loving, and silly companion into your life? Josie can’t wait to meet you! Apply today at www.luckylabrescue.com.

More about this rescue

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
