Douglas is an irresistible, lovable beefcake pittie boy. He exudes love, towards people and animals alike. He’s dog-friendly, cat-tolerant and people-adoring, a perfect fit for any animal lover’s home!
Douglas is perfect in every way. He’s a rescue favorite already, beloved by staff and volunteers alike. He’s actually SO loved here at the rescue that one of our staff has taken him home as a foster. He’s awesome. We think Douglas is a pittie, boxer mix, around a year and a half old. He is a rescue, so these our just our best guesses. He currently weighs in at a snuggly 57 pounds.

With other dogs, Douglas is friendly and playful and loving! He gives gentle sweet kisses to his doggy friends, and shares love and affection well with other dogs. He has a rowdy and rambunctious play style and would love to live in a home with a moderately playful doggy sibling to keep him company.
Here at the rescue, Douglas was cat-tested. We believe he is cat-tolerant and capable of living with dog-savvy kitties.
Douglas is so loving and engaged with people, he adores pets, sometimes getting so excited for love that he gets zoomies. He’s such a ham for attention too, showing off his cutest puppy dog eyes to get some belly rubs.
He’s so smart too. He listens really well to verbal correction, he knows some basic commands, he’s learning better leash manners here at the rescue! He loves treats, and takes them sooo gently- his food motivation will make any further training easy and enjoyable for both of you.

Douglas is ready to be your best friend. He could live in a home with other dogs, with dog-savvy cats, or as your only child! He’s an absolute dream and ready for forever love. He would likely enjoy a home with a backyard to zoom in, but if you have access to a dog park or otherwise fenced-dog-friendly-area, he says he can make do! While we haven’t seen Douglas with kids yet, we think he would likely make a great family dog! Our behavior team can test Douglas with children if needed. We are willing to test him with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!
The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
