My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Kell. I'm a friendly soul, always ready to give a wag of my tail and a playful nudge to brighten your day. I've got a heart full of loyalty, always sticking by your side, no matter what. Cuddling is my favorite pastime, and I've got a mellow, sweet demeanor that makes me the perfect companion for those quiet evenings at home. I'm smart too, I love learning new tricks and playing games. Life's a game of fetch, and I'm ready to play. Why should you adopt me? Well, I believe everyone needs a loyal friend, a comforting cuddle, and a playful spirit to brighten their days. That's me, Kell.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
