COURTESY LISTING

This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for SAMMY. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply.

Looking for a big, lovable goofball to fill your home with joy and energy? Meet Sammy! This happy-go-lucky pup is a German Shepherd/Great Dane mix who adores playtime and is ready to bring endless fun to his forever family. Just one year old and weighing 55 pounds, Sammy is full of energy, curiosity, and sweetness. Sammy is happiest when he's chasing toys or playing fetch. He loves running around, and once he’s warmed up to you, he’ll stick by your side like your shadow. His favorite thing? Head scratches and all the love you can give! While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for his friendly personality to shine through. This big boy is still learning his manners—he’s working on basic commands like "sit" and "down," and he’s a bit of a playful jumper (but only because he’s so excited to be your friend!). Despite his size, Sammy is gentle and has shown no signs of aggression. He’s great with older kids, curious but respectful of cats (when he sees them through a door), and loves other dogs. He’ll bark to let you know someone’s arriving but is all wags and smiles once they’re introduced. While Sammy is not yet housetrained—he was previously an outdoor dog—he’s already crate-trained and has a great start on becoming the best indoor companion with a little patience and love. He’s a star car passenger and would make a fantastic travel buddy for adventures. Sammy’s ideal home would have a large, fenced yard where he can run and play, along with a family who’s ready to invest time in training and bonding with him. His mix of playfulness and affection makes him an excellent match for an active family that can keep up with his energy and offer him plenty of love and attention. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal companion with a heart as big as his paws, Sammy is ready to meet you! Come spend some time with this gentle giant, and you’ll quickly fall for his goofy, loving nature.

THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents.

A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first!

Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.
