More about this rescue

Heartstrings Dog Rescue is a labor of love fully supported by volunteers and donations to save dogs in southern shelters, who otherwise could be euthanized due to lack of space in overcrowded and underfunded shelter conditions. Rescue founder, Jackie Kraemer, started Heartstrings Dog Rescue with the mission of "one dog at a time." We rescue, provide vetting, transport, foster, training (when needed) for dogs that could have been euthanized, or died as strays on the streets.

We also have taken in cruelty cases and rehabilitated them through our loving fosters and trainers. Our mission is also to continue to grow public awareness of this epidemic in the South.

Additionally, we work to grow awareness of the horrible puppy mills in our state and work to reduce the demand for dogs in those conditions, by rescuing highly adoptable dogs that need homes from other states. We advocate for animal welfare both here and in several states that need our help!
