My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 8 months
Weight: 27 kg / 60 lb

A bit about Shadow:
- previously lived with preteens; children okay pending successful introduction
- previously lived with cats; slow, supervised introductions recommended
- previously lived with a dog; dogs okay pending successful introduction

Despite his young age, Shadow is already a calm, gentle and cuddly dog! He has lived successfully with cats, dogs and preteen children and already has some basic training. Shadow is very food motivated and also really adores head scratches. He`ll be sure to let you know when it`s petting time by booping your leg with his nose. Shadow has already won lots of friends here at CHS and we are sure that once you meet this gentle boy, you won`t be able to resist bringing him home!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
