My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cassidy, a sweet 2-year-old 27 pound laid back girl.  She’s a long-legged gal so possibly a terrier mix with maybe a little Chihuahua in her blood. Cassidy was found as a stray in southern Missouri and was never claimed.  We were told she was found scared and standing in the middle of the road completely confused.  It was probably likely she was dumped as it seems sadly to be very common. Fortunately, animal control found her and kept her safe until she could be brought into rescue.

Cassidy is a very sweet girl and has been friendly with everyone she meets.  She would, however, do better in a home with older kids as we don’t know her personality around younger kids. She does wonderful with her smaller foster siblings and is completely fine with the cats and shows them no interest at all. At just 27 pounds she’s the perfect size.

Cassidy seems to be more on the laid-back calm side and doesn’t show a lot of interest in chasing and playing with the other dogs in the home.  She’s totally friendly with them, just not a big player. She’d much rather be snoozing on the couch or playing with her toys.

She seems to walk well on a leash and is completely potty trained.  She goes to the door when she needs to go outside.  Currently she sleeps gated in the kitchen at night but has free range of her foster home when foster mom is gone.

Her Christmas wish is to fine her forever home that is filled with lots of soft stuffy toys to play with.

If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

Cassidy’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
