Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I’m Jethro Gibbs, but you can call me Jethro! If you’re an NCIS fan, you’ll know I’m named after someone pretty awesome—and I promise I live up to it.
I’m a happy-go-lucky Staffordshire Terrier, turning 2 in January, and I weigh 67 pounds of pure love and energy. I was found on November 11th, and wow, what a day that was! I stumbled upon some friendly humans, and before they knew it, I hopped right into their car like I belonged there.
When they found me, I wasn’t in the best shape—I had fleas, some scars, a painful ear infection, and an infected wound. But they took me to the vet the very next day, and now I’m healthy, neutered, heartworm-free, and up to date on all my vaccines.
I’m super playful and love being around other dogs, big or small. I’m crate trained, but I do miss my people when they’re away—I just love being with them so much! I’m also potty trained, know my commands, and am always eager to please. I’m great with kids, though I think I’d do best with bigger ones since I have a lot of energy and might accidentally knock over the little ones. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them.
If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving buddy who will shower you with affection, I’m your guy! Will you be my forever family? Applications at bigloverescue.org.

Additional adoption info
We are extremely thorough with our adoption process. Our goal is to find the best fit for our dogs. We reserve the right to deny anyone a dog if we feel the applicant is not qualified or is not a good fit for the dog at our discretion. We require two personal references that we call to check character and get a recommendation on why or why not the applicant is a good candidate. Also, we call the vet reference to be sure the applicants current dog is current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. The home check is mandatory to be sure the applicant lives where they say they live and the pet will live in a safe environment.

More about this rescue

All of our dogs are in foster homes.
The charity will also focus on efforts to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals to prevent the overpopulation of animals in Texas.
Our adoption fee is $300 which includes alteration, vaccines, microchip, training program in some cases & any medical treatments needed for each dog to be 100% healthy and successful in a home. Must have an approved application to set up a meet and greet.
