Hey everyone! Exciting news... this week Rock N' Rescue has the most amazing 8 yr old Shih Tzue ever, ready to go to his forever home! Please make sure to read ALL info below BEFORE applying. Meet Spud! Is he for real?! Cutest ever - probably pure Shih Tzu boy mini lover still with a puppy spirit - can't be any more super delicious in every way. LOVES kids, LOVES other dogs, ok with cats (not in foster with them but tested with them) and seemingly crate and housetrained and just a great match for a family looking for this breed. Sadly we don't have much history - he was a drop off from someone who didn't leave any info except that he and his house buddy could no longer live with them! No words but this is his past - he was obviously loved too as he does not seem to suffer from any trauma. He was then fostered with great care in one of our southern rescuer's homes and is now moving to our northern foster here in NY/CT. He is heartworm negative and neutered and vaccinated too!. He loves to play in the yard and is good on a leash and loves being by your side. Great for an active family who wants not just a super dog but a goofy goofball Shih Tzu as he is typical of his breed. Tiny floof too!
His foster reports, "He is great with kids of all ages - seems to have no issue with children. He is so much fun and even loves my dogs and EVERYONE who wants a kiss! We are still learning his quirks but right now can't find anything negative to report as he is just a joy and makes us smile!"
Spud is a small dog at 8 lbs and is a perfect size right now. He has had his vaccines and microchip and has been dewormed/defleaed too. HEARTWORM NEGATIVE neutered etc... Even had recent dental! Donation minimum is $650 to cover his transport here and all of his vetting. Out of state adopters MUST pick up in Bedford Hills NY - no exceptions.

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered - are fully vaccinated - and up to date on necessary vet care. Some animals that are listed are special needs might have chronic problems that the adopter would cover for future vetting, although this is rare.

Welcome to Rock N' Rescue! We are a 501c3 cat rescue (and a few dogs!) based in Westchester County NY. Our goal is not only to save the lives of kittens and cats coming from high kill shelters, but to raise awareness of many issues concerning animal welfare. We also have a therapy cat program, providing special cats deemed gentle enough to be able to relieve stress for individuals suffering from illness, PTSD and other stress/trauma in their lives. All of our cats must go to an indoor only home and are not allowed to be declawed (unless they are rescued already declawed). Adopters are encouraged to post happy tales here too!
We also are happy to do custom searches if you are looking for a particular breed/mixed breed of cat or dog!
