My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOR ADOPTION: LIA is an adorable 10 month old female mixed breed looking for a fun and engaging forever family. Lia is just under 50lbs and chalked right full of fun and adventure. Lia came into our care because her first family just could not provide for the needs of a high energy young dog. In the right hands Lia will be the best adventure buddy and overall companion. This little lady is smart as a whip and full of life. She has caught onto basic obedience very quickly with a solid sit and off. She’s making fantastic progress with other commands such as down and wait and, with consistency, her leash skills are coming along quickly. Lia has a very strong nose and would do well in tracking or scent work type training. She has energy for days and will make a great jogging, hiking, biking and skiing buddy. A strong personal bond and reliable recall will need to be in place before she tries any of those things off leash. Lia is a very friendly dog that wants to love everyone but does need a little guidance with her social manners. She loves people of all ages and has lived with children previously. She does jump up when she is excited and would do best with older, dog savvy kids who are capable of setting firm special boundaries. Lia really wants to have dog friends. She is friendly and quite submissive but when she tries to get playing it’s obvious she’s not been well socialized with other dogs yet. She is looking for a playful and patient canine companion that will see her style of play (very herding breed type) for what it is and help her build confidence and skills interacting with other dogs. Lia was quite good with the cats at the shelter upon initial testing. She is submissive to them and possibly even a little fearful. We do think that as she becomes comfortable with a cat in her life she would also attempt to play with it so lots of human guidance while she learns how to coexist with cats will be required. Lia has been well mannered indoors. She is quiet in her kennel, nondestructive and clean. She also
Seems to enjoy car rides for new adventures. She is now spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a smart and fun adventure tire buddy apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet LIA #NWASLia
