Meet Oreo, a 4-year-old Corgi mix with a boundless amount of energy and a heart as sweet as her name! With her striking black and white coat and her playful, upbeat personality, Oreo is always ready for fun and adventure. She’s incredibly friendly, loves meeting new people, and gets along well with other dogs—though she prefers to keep her distance from cats. Whether it’s zooming around the yard or snuggling up for some well-deserved rest after a busy day, Oreo brings joy and excitement wherever she goes. If you're looking for a loyal companion who’ll keep you on your toes and fill your life with love, Oreo’s your girl!
Oreo will be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her core vaccinations and monthly preventatives by the time she becomes available. If you are interested in this sweet girl, give us a call at 740-314-5583! Give us a call at (740) 314-5583 for more information!

More about this shelter
We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
