My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Local adoption only: Tank must be adopted by a family in the Central Florida area who can commit to taking him to all his final puppy vetting appointments. (The cost of his follow up is covered by the rescue).***

Hi, I’m Tank! I’m a 6-month-old Standard Poodle who currently weighs about 36 lbs. I just want to be everyone’s friend: will you be mine? You can read more about me below.

  • General Behavior: Tank loves other dogs and people and wants to play with everyone. He is a typical Poodle: adventurous, athletic, affectionate, and extremely intelligent.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Tank wants to play all day! In addition to human and canine playmates, he loves to play with toys: the more, the merrier!

  • Training:  Tank is a smart cookie. (He is also smart for cookies: he is very food-motivated and therefore very trainable.) He is making good progress on house training. He already knows “sit” but he still tries to jump for food and treats. Other than that, he walks well on a leash, is well-behaved on car rides, and sleeps in a dog bed at night.

  • Medical: Tank is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm medications, like any dog. He still needs to finish his puppy vetting, and his forever family must commit to taking him to his final appointments with Poodle and Pooch Rescue’s vetting partner.

  • Other Animals: Tank loves other dogs of all sizes, but he is NOT a fan of cats.

  • Children:  Given his energy levels, Tank will probably do best in a home with older children (ages 8+) only.

  • Home: Tank barks and whines when left alone so he will need a single family home for that reason.

  • Grooming: As a Poodle, Tank will need regular brushing plus professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks.

  • Overall: Tank will make a wonderful companion for an active family who can raise him, train him, and love him forever.

Do you Tank’s just terrific and tremendous? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed, and he has just had his teeth cleaned.  His adoption donation is $650.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
