This helps Waggytail Rescue - Los Angeles with pet care costs.
Meet the most adorable girl, Missy! This sweet little Chi is between 6-8 years old and weighs around 5 lbs. Missy has endured quite a journey already. She is originally from Mexico but came to Waggytail from Texas. Missy was quite shut down when she arrived in November. She spent most of the first week glued to her crate. Slowly she has started to open up to her foster parents. It is quite obvious that Missy has had limited interactions with humans and is nervous around them. However, she does love other dogs. Once in her new foster home, she immediately bonded with her foster siblings and this tiny girl was ready to enjoy life again!
As she continues to acclimate to life in Brooklyn, Missy is still particularly scared of being on the ground outside; understandably, given her small size. She finds comfort in being carried, snuggles, and showering her people with countless kisses. During her time with her foster family, she has trained on pee pads but of course will need to continue training.
She has no leash manners. Missy displays a preference for being held close and toted around. When placed down outside, she acts like the floor is lava. Missy weighs nothing, so it’s easier to just carry her and she likes that better. She is being crate trained at night. She is also ok outside of the crate and sleeps through the night in bed with no accidents as well as home alone. Missy loves hard and becomes very attached. She is an excellent office dog, companion to do errands with, or just hang out.
To ensure Missy's continued progress, her forever family will need to invest time and effort into helping her further adjust and patience is key. Missy is looking for a low-key family. She appreciates downtime and is learning to appreciate active moments. She will need to be adopted with another dog in the home. She is good with children and cats in the home who are respectful and have slow introductions on her level.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Missy, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
