Meet Niko, a spirited pup bursting with energy and enthusiasm! This playful guy loves attention and will eagerly come when called, although his curiosity about the world can lead to some distractions. While he pulls moderately on the leash and sometimes jumps with excitement, Niko is a quick learner and would thrive with continued training. He enjoys playtime with other dogs, showcasing his joyful, puppy-like playstyle, though some may find it a bit much. Niko is friendly and open to handling, showing no signs of resource guarding, and he’s already shown a knack for fetching and releasing toys. If you’re ready for a fun-loving companion who’s eager to learn, Niko is waiting for you!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
