Hiya, I’m Wednesday and I am a very adorable 3 month old pup! I am looking for a home that can help me with my special needs. I was born with a deformity in my spine and because of that, I will have lifelong incontinence. Incontinence in dogs can be a challenging condition for both pets and owners. However, with the right care, it is possible to manage the situation and maintain a good quality of life for a puppy like me!
Outside of that, I am a very active and happy dog! I can be a little mouthy and demanding at times, so I`ll need someone experienced with a dog like me. I am a very smart girl and I learn quick! I would be best in a home without young kids due to my incontinence and behavior, but I think it could be a great companion for the right person!
I`m currently staying in a foster home, so if you`re interested in meeting me please contact info@tailshumanesociety.org for more information and to setup a time to meet me! Please understand that because of my extra needs, the staff at Tails will need to make sure you`re a good potential home for me before setting up a time to meet.
** This will be a lifelong condition that will not improve and will require daily management. Wednesday leaks urine and feces throughout the day as well as when sleeping, however some manual stimulation is required and crucial, especially after eating, drinking, and waking up. A supervisor will demonstrate the day-to-day care needed for Wednesday.

A staff member will ask you what sort of pet you are looking for and then will provide you with information about specific pets that appear to be a good fit for your family, taking into consideration such factors as: kids, level of activity, your pet experience, other animals currently in the home, etc. You will be encouraged to interact with the pet or pets of your choice in a private visiting room. We believe that bringing a new pet into your home is an important decision so you’ll have plenty of time to make your decision without feeling rushed. Staff and volunteers will be available throughout this time to answer any questions you may have. Once you’ve made your choice, an adoption counselor will review the adoption contract with you.
You’ll pay the adoption fee. Then you’ll take your new family member home with you!
An animal can be put on hold in person at the TAILS facility during regular adoption hours.

Our mission: Saving the lives of companion animals through rescue, adoption and spay/neuter; advocating for pets in our region.
TAILS Humane Society is a limited admission animal shelter providing a safe haven for almost 2,400 animals each year. We are committed to providing each animal the time and medical care they need to have their best chance at adoption.
TAILS was established in 1999 by a group of local animal advocates dedicated to bringing a comprehensive animal shelter to DeKalb. We operated out of an old farmhouse until 2005 when we cut the ribbon on our Barber Greene facility. In 2009, we opened our low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic providing quality, affordable sterilization services to the public. We continue to grow and strengthen our programs and service as we continue to save lives.
