My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you seeking a friendly, loving, dynamic duo of bonded brothers to complete your family? Meet Gerald and Peter! Gerald is a friendly purr machine who thinks humans are the greatest thing ever. If you are looking for a furry best friend who greets you like a long-lost buddy, Gerald is your boy. This handsome, sweet panther loves his toys – like his brother, he turns into a ninja when the laser comes out! Watch him zoom across the floor and leap up walls like a feline action movie star! When he’s not busy adoring his people, Gerald can be found sprawled out at the end of your bed or perched atop his cat tree, surveying his realm from the best seat in the house. Gerald also dabbles in toe-nibbling, but his fondness is limited to bare toes – socks ruin the flavour! Peter will be your friendly, furry shadow, following you around the house, or catching up on some zzz’s on your desk while you work. And when it’s time for this handsome office assistant to clock out, he will happily join you and warm up the end of your bed at night. Peter is also a connoisseur of spring toys - yellow ones are his fave! And then there’s the laser…this sweet, playful boy delights in leaping up the wall in pursuit of that elusive, little red dot. But what really gets Peter’s whiskers on full alert is seeing you making your way to the washroom! Peter will race you to the sink and tell you in no uncertain terms that he must taste the tap water! Only the freshest drip, straight from the source, will do for this boy! And the sink is not just for water. When the tap is not running, Peter knows it makes for the perfect cool, cozy cat bed. Peter and Gerald get along with other cats, but they can be a bit exuberant at playtime, and their nibbles might not be appreciated. While they get along with kids, we think they would be best suited for a home with older children only. We are unsure how they are with dogs.

Peter and Gerald came to us as kittens from Animal Services, after being found as strays along with their mom. While they don’t have any confirmed allergies, both boys are currently eating a diet of duck food (wet, dry, and kibble) because other cats in their foster home require it.

If you are looking for a pair of adorable boys to love you to the fullest, and turn ordinary moments into exciting adventures, Peter and Gerald will be the perfect addition to your home!

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
