My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jane is an adorable, personable, sweet and handleable, four-year-old, female tri-color American smooth coat guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.

Jane was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue when her companion passed away. We are hoping so that she can find a home with another female guinea pig. She’s lived with two other guinea pigs in her life and got along beautifully with them.

She would love a caring home with people who will keep her well-fed, nails trimmed, and her habitat nice and clean.

She has a healthy appetite and eats unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, a cup of fresh salad each day and an 1/8 cup of pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which she gets from her pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of her leafy greens.

Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent web site http://www.guinealynx.info/

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Jane please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

Her adoption fee of $25 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, we’ll include a kit of absolutely everything you need to care for her including her Midwest guinea pig cage, or similar, pellets, hay, hidey hut, and water bottle.

She is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
