*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty S8ociety has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. The animal’s behavior around other pets; not food with cats. Gets along with our other dog half the other time, half the time his energy annoys her (she’s a very particular pittie cattle dog). But, at dog parks, and with friends/family dogs, he plays and gets along great with them.
The animal’s behavior around children; he’s very confused by toddlers and seems scared. I wouldn’t recommend him in a home with a child under 5. Not aggressive, I just don’t think he understands little kids, and doesn’t know how to be careful around babies.
Any past or existing health issues that the animal has had; He’s battled Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia (a platelet disorder. The good news, is he is doing much better and has been off of steroids for months. He is now only on 50 mg of atopica a day. He is definitely on his way to a recovery but while in treatment, the vet did not recommend he gets his lepto/distemper vaccine. He was just approved for his rabies vaccine and got it this December (last week!) his next appointment to see if we can cut his meds in half again, is scheduled for March 2025. He may even get approved for his other vaccines at that time.
Any medication the animal may currently be taking; Atopica, 50 mg once daily he takes with a spoonful of peanut butter
Any dietary restrictions that the animal may have; I highly recommend the food I currently feed him because his digestion is perfect and no allergies from it: Natural Balance® Limited Ingredient Dry Dog Food, Salmon & Brown Rice Recipe
The animal’s training history (especially whether or not the animal is housebroken); he is housebroken and crate trained (sleep and when we go to work) and had a few basic training lessons (sit, lay, stay, leash walking). He sometimes gets too excited with walks, I would recommend a special color or harness (I have both and will provide both to new o
