Meet Ziggy, a handsome gentleman with a heart of gold! This sweet soul is looking for a loving home where he can relax, enjoy some quality yard time, and go on slow, leisurely walks. Ziggy is an excellent walker when he’s wearing his harness, and he loves meeting new people—he’s a huge snuggle bug who craves affection from everyone he meets.
Ziggy’s ideal home would include a comfy couch for napping and people who can spend lots of time with him, as he does experience some anxiety when left alone. He’d be a perfect fit for a home with older, respectful children and no other dogs, as he prefers to be the only pet. Ziggy was surrendered by his previous owner due to some tough times, and now he’s hoping for a fresh start with a family who will love him unconditionally.
Ziggy is fully potty trained and knows basic commands like "sit" and "paw." If you’re looking for a loving companion who will fill your home with warmth and cuddles, Ziggy could be the perfect match for you!
If you would like to meet Ziggy, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.
**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
