Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet KitKat! She is a bubbly, energetic girl with a heart full of love, and she's always excited to meet new people! Her upbeat, happy personality is contagious, and she’ll quickly make you smile with her boundless enthusiasm. While KitKat was found as a stray in Sumpter Township, we don’t know much about her past, but it seems she wasn’t given the chance to fully learn how to be a dog. We’re still working on some training, especially with her jumping and leash walking, but we’re confident that with time and patience, she’ll be a great companion.
KitKat is very social and loves every person she meets. She’s also quite interested in other dogs and may do well with a dog sibling, as long as they have a proper introduction. KitKat would thrive in an active home with someone who will take her on adventures and provide a fenced-in yard where she can burn off some of that energy! She has a sweet, loving nature, but because she’s still quite jumpy, we’re not sure how she would do with small children.
If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who’s ready to learn and grow, KitKat might be the perfect fit for your family!
If you would like to meet KitKat, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers all of the medical care she has received.
**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
