Presenting Max! This sweet dog can be a bit shy with strangers and nervous about new places at first, but once his trust is gained and he's comfortable, he's very affectionate and loves giving kisses and cuddles. Max enjoys the simple things in life, like taking long walks with lots of pauses for investigative sniffing. He's best suited to a calm, quiet household where any children are older and able to understand and respect his body language, and where he can adjust at his own pace. If you're looking for a Very Good Dog for games of fetch at the park or walks around the block, Max wants to meet you!

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
