Meet Jinny, a young, vibrant soul full of energy. She`s the epitome of friendliness and playfulness, always eager to engage in a game of fetch or tug-of-war. This 41-pound girl also likes running, tugging, and toys. Her excitable nature is contagious, lighting up the room with her antics. Yet, when the playtime ends, Jinny becomes the perfect cuddle buddy, offering warmth and comfort as she enjoys treasured lap time while you pet her. She does have a bit of a food aggression issue but only around dogs, not humans. With proper training and patience, this can be managed. Jinny can be a bit rough with other dogs and is cautious around cats but she`s friendly and playful with one and all. She is also a little jumpy around children, so a home with older kids or adults might be best. She is working on house training and leash walking so please continue her education. Jinny`s lively spirit is in need of a loving home where she can continue to spread joy and happiness. CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.
CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
