Meet Kash, a young dog whose personality is as rich as his name suggests. He is a bundle of joy, always ready to play and burn off his youthful energy. He likes fetch, running, tugging, toys, and walks - especially when he gets to jump around on a leash. Kash is smart and house trained, making him an easy addition to any household. He knows the sit, stay, no, and wait commands. But it`s not all play for Kash, he also enjoys a good cuddle session, showing his affectionate and lovable side. He`d love nothing more than putting his petite 67-pound body across your lap for petting and serious snuggling. He can be a bit jumpy at times, but that`s just part of his charm. Kash gets along well with other dogs and children, making him a great family pet. His friendly demeanor is sure to win over anyone who meets him. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.

Any dog/puppy adopted at the same time as a cat/kitten will be adoptable at a $20 discount.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
