Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Tippy may be a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—this sweet 12-year-old lady has so much love to give once she’s settled in. Tippy is looking for a special home where she can stay with her lifelong companion, Buddy. These two have been together their entire lives, and they’re a package deal! They bring out the best in each other and are ready to find a cozy home where they can continue their journey side by side.
Tippy might need a little extra time to adjust to new surroundings, but with patience and a gentle touch, she’ll blossom into the affectionate, sweet kitty she truly is. If you have a quiet, loving space to offer and the patience to help her settle in, Tippy (and Buddy!) will be forever grateful.
Come meet Tippy and Buddy and see the bond they share—it’s the kind of love that lasts a lifetime!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
