Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.
thanks

Date into Rescue:12/3/2024
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Polly is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
Weight: 36 lbs
Height: 20 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog.
What kind of home would be best for me? Polly came to us as a breeder release and is now searching for her very first forever home. While she’s still adjusting to life outside of breeding, she’s already showing the sweet, loving personality that makes her such a special girl. Polly has made remarkable progress since arriving at CPR. She’s learning to trust and love the caregivers here, and she gets along well with all the other dogs she’s met. This is especially impressive, considering she had never known the kindness of a loving family before coming to us.
Polly is looking for a forever home with an adopter who can offer her the patience, time, and understanding she needs to continue her development into wonderful companion and pet. Polly’s ideal home is one where she’s given the time and space to adjust to her new life. She’s still learning the basics, so someone who is committed to providing consistent training and establishing a routine will be essential to her success.
Polly would thrive in either a house or an apartment. A home with another dog would be beneficial to her, as she would learn how to interact and gain confidence from your dog. A fenced yard would be a wonderful as it will provide Polly her a safe place to run and play. However, if you don’t have a fence, daily walks or trips to the dog park will provide the physical and mental stimulation she needs.
Polly needs a loving home where she can feel safe, valued, and cherished. If you’re ready to open your heart to this sweet girl, she will reward you with unconditional love and loyalty. Show her kindness, and you’ll see her bloom into a joyful, confident, lifelong companion.
What is my personality like? At almost 6 years young, Polly has spent her life in a breeding facility. What she lacks in life experiences, she makes up for with a gentle demeanor and an eagerness to love. P olly is a gentle, loving girl at heart who is quickly discovering that the world isn’t such a bad place. She loves people and other dogs, and she’s especially fond of treats! Her affectionate nature shines through as she continues to adjust and gain confidence.
Everything with Polly is new. She's never been a pet, never walked on a leash, never been on outings or vacation, never snuggled with humans on the couch or in bed at night. We know she's going to be SO HAPPY for these experiences, but YOU will teach her all of these. Polly needs her adopter to help her with basic training, including leash training and learning commands like sit, stay, come, and down. She’s also in the process of becoming potty trained—positive reinforcement and a consistent schedule will go a long way in helping her reach that milestone.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Polly has a loving, trusting heart and is eager to share her affection with everyone she meets—whether human or canine.
Other tips and tidbits: Polly was born on 2/19/2019.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
