Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Koda is a 4 year old Malamute Mix with a good mix of playful & couch potato energy. I got him when he was about 8 months old in Dallas, Tx. He's a smart boy who loves to hike & walk long distances, as long as it's not too hot - Fortunately, even though he's part malamute, his hair isn't as fluffy/full as a pure-bred Malamute. Koda is house and crate trained, but doesn't like being in his crate during heavy rain/thunder.
The reason my wife and I are deciding to adopt Koda away from our family, is that she and I are going to be starting a family. Koda, with all of his positive qualities, has fear and aggression triggers that we do not want around a small child. At times, he has displayed these aggressions towards my wife as well, though she's managed. We do not want to risk it becoming escalated towards her and/or risk injuring a child. He's never bit anyone, but he has shown teeth and done a few warning lunges. It's become a stressor in our household & we believe a change is needed.
