Meet Choopy (Choo-pee)! An 11-month-old Chupacabra who was brought in as a stray by Cottleville police on 11/29/24. Since being at the pet adoption center, he hasn’t done well in the kennel setting and urgently needs a loving home.
Choopy is a very nervous little guy who is slowly coming out of his shell—he even had his tail a bit lower today instead of tucked! He knows how to sit but can be quite stubborn about it. He’s very gentle with treats, so when meeting new people, it’s best to have them give him treats to help him feel more comfortable. Choopy does well on a leash unless he sees another dog. In those situations, making him stop, come back, and sit can help manage his pulling. Due to his nervousness and behavior, he’s best suited for a home without young children, ideally with kids aged 15 and up. During floor time, he struggled and exhibited behaviors like biting at the walls and barking, and he bit at the leash when being moved back.
Choopy is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can feel safe and loved. Could you be the one to give him the forever home he deserves? ????
