Meet Wilton!

Wilton was adopted from the San Diego Humane Society in October 2024 by a first-time dog owner who has made the difficult decision to rehome him. They hope to find a loving family better suited to meet Wilton's needs. While he is a loving companion, Wilton has some reactivity issues that require an experienced owner who can dedicate the time and resources to help him blossom into a more confident, well-balanced pup.

About Wilton:
Wilton is a sweet and affectionate dog who is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is very affectionate and loving to his person, and he does great just chilling in the house, whether they are at home or away. Wilton enjoys playing with toys for short periods, especially in the morning.

Wilton's challenges:
Wilton needs a patient who has experience with fearful dogs that have resource guarding tendencies. He is fearful towards people other than his current guardian, and that has resulted in minor biting incidents (skin not broken) in the home he has been in since October. He does not show this aggression towards his current guardian, and they can take away food or toys with no issue.

Wilton is also fearful of other dogs, both in his home and those he encounters outdoors. If he sees dogs while on walks, he will whimper and bark.

What Wilton needs:
Wilton is a dog so eager to love and be loved. He is deserving of a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved. With the right training and a dedicated family, Wilton has the potential to be an amazing companion.

If you're an experienced dog owner ready to take on the rewarding challenge of helping Winton become a more confident, well-balanced dog, please text or call Marci at (619)929-0802.
