Wirt is a charming, handsome sweetheart who has a bit of a backstory! Found huddled on the white line of an interstate when he was just a tiny kitten, Wirt was raised in a loving, happy home in Black Mountain. Unfortunately, his family was displaced by Hurricane Helene and is no longer able to keep Wirt with them in their current housing. This friendly, independent boy enjoys being near his people, but is not a lap cat (although he does tolerate brief cuddles). He would be happiest in a home where he could be an indoor/outdoor cat, as that is what he has always known. Wirt is most comfortable with adolescents and adults. He has been exposed to dogs, but is not a fan. Because he has been through so much over the past few months especially, Wirt will need time and patience as he learns to adjust to his new home and build trust with his new family.
Meet Wirt at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, from 12-4pm, on Saturday or apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
