My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Koda's Foster Mom:
Meet Koda – Your Gentle Giant and Ultimate Cuddle Buddy!

Koda is an 80 lb German Shepard mix with a heart as big as his paws! This lovable, gentle boy is neutered, heartworm negative, crate trained, and potty trained--- The total package of a well – mannered companion.

While Koda is typically calm and easygoing, his excitement is contagious! When he’s happy, he wags his entire body, so small children should be ready to move out of his way.

He’s fantastic on a leash – it’s as if he’s had obedience training- and he enjoys every walk like a pro.

Koda adores belly rubs, his toys, and lounging on a comfy couch. He has met the neighborhood kids and has been gentle with them. He also loves the cold and snow, so a home in a cooler climate would be ideal.

Getting a bath and a nail trim at the vet was no problem for him. He acted like he was at the people spa like his human friends go to!

While Koda hasn’t been fully tested with other friendly dogs, he’s not one to ignore a challenge if another dog reacts to him. Because of this, he would thrive as the only dog in a home where he can soak up all the love and attention.

If you are looking for a devoted, affectionate, and well-behaved best friend who just wants a loving family and a cozy couch, Koda is your guy.

Meet Koda! 🐾✨
Koda is a calm and collected pup with an independent spirit, ready to find a home that appreciates his laid-back charm.
✨ Koda’s Highlights:
Smart and obedient—he knows “sit” and listens well.
Great on a leash, making walks easy and enjoyable.
A true medium-energy companion—calm and relaxed both indoors and out.
Shows interest in people and other pups but maintains a cool, aloof demeanor.
Independent but still loves being around his people.
If you’re looking for a pup who’s confident, easy-going, and perfectly balanced between social and self-sufficient, Koda might just be your perfect match. Come meet this handsome boy today! 🐶❤️

On 12/21/24 Koda met a couple other dogs. He seems housetrained as he immediately did his business outside. He was friendly and social, but sometimes hormone driven. He took correction well. Coming back inside, he showed some barrier reactivity to other dogs.

Koda has spent some time in foster care. Here's what his foster has to say:
"He has met the neighborhood kids and done GREAT. He's walked place dogs on the street and done GREAT. He's walked passed people on the streets and done GREAT. He is a GREAT boy. He has a small bad habit of jumping up on people when excited, but we are working on that.
Koda is an absolute snuggle bug for as big as he is. He is easy to walk and an absolute pleasure. "
