Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🎤 Do You Believe in Life After (No) Love? 🎶
Introducing Cher, a 7-year-old, 12-pound poodle who has overcome the darkest days to step into the spotlight she deserves. Cher may share a name with be a musical icon but her story did not have a glamour start. This little superstar lived life in a cage at a puppy mill pumping out beautiful poodle babies. Once she was no longer of use to the puppy mill, she was destined for a bullet until a kind-hearted woman intervened just as she was being led to her execution. Cher is now ready to start Act II, leave her heartbreaking past behind and find her forever home fit for the superstar that she is.
This tiny icon is “Strong Enough” to start fresh, but she needs a little help along the way. Cher is shy but extra sweet, and despite her past, she’s quick to trust people. She is nervous around those wearing baseball hats (no paparazzi vibes, please!). Once she warms up to you (which does not take long), your lap will become her y stage and she will want you by her side forever.
Cher is still working on her overall confidence and learning how to be a beloved pet. She can’t do stairs yet and will need to be carried if you have stairs in your home. She’s also working on overcoming her leash fears, so a fenced-in yard is a must for her comfort and safety.
Despite her struggles, Cher loves to “Turn Back Time” with cozy snuggles, cuddles, and moments with her special people. She’s ready to put her dear heart into a home that offers patience, understanding, and love. Cher also takes great comfort in other dogs so while finding her “Sonny” is not mandatory, it would definitely be a plus.
Could you be the one to say “I Got You Babe” to Cher and give her the life she’s been waiting for? With your help, she’ll finally know what it means to “Believe” in a forever family. She’s waiting for someone who believes in second chances—and we know she’s worth it.
Don’t keep her waiting in the wings! Fill out an application to make Cher the star of your heart.

Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country.
Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
