My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopt Emi! Emi is about 11 months old or so, spayed, vaccinated, and micro chipped. She seems to be a husky mix- but we also see shep and some terrier too. Emi is on the smaller side and weighs only 45lbs. This sweet girl came from the Modesto Animal Shelter when she was Red listed to be put down for space. Her foster family helped save her life by committing to fostering. They weren’t able to keep her very much longer and she needed a new foster. She is now located in Hayward California but is awaiting transport to the Seattle area. Emi is very dog friendly and loves people. She would be an amazing companion and also loves to protect her house. Emi has a beautiful husky voice that she likes to use to alert when strangers are coming near. She loves to go on a car ride and stick her head out the window. Emi came with a scar underneath her chest and arm. It looks like maybe she was injured sometime in her life and it left a mark. We don’t know her story, but we would like to write a new one for her new life someday. We are looking for a family that is dog savvy and who knows how to give love/training and time for a dog to decompress. Everything seems a little new to her and she is learning so well. She knows some commands and definitely knows sit very fast. Emi also is very, very food motivated and is so smart that she is easily trained. Emi loves to be with people or dogs. A home where somebody has a dog would be great so she could learn from them. Emi does not mind sharing her food and lets you take bones/treats from her when she has them. She is a gentle soul with lots of energy and would love to be either your cozy buddy or a very active hiking partner! She is still getting to know the new world out there and would need some time to adjust with a new family again but once she is in the home and adjusted, she is your best friend! To meet her please apply ASAP by emailing Priscilla at packlyferescue@yahoo.com. We would love for her to start her new journey soon!

Additional adoption info

For our dogs, our process starts first with an adoption application. Our dog adoption application includes references, vet info, home photos and proof of home ownership or landlord contact. Our requirements vary per dog, but we look closely at activity level, yard, time away, previous pets, current pets etc.. During that time they may also have a home visit or long conversation (depending upon the situation of the dog, if warranted) with one of our professional trainers. We deliver the dogs with their quality food, treats, all vet records, training material, resources, etc. We encourage and often require additional training. We keep in communication with our fosters and adopters. We try to do the most to set everyone up to succeed. We are upfront about their commitment, training & responsibilities Adoption fees for our dogs and puppies range from $200 - $600 Great people are certainly out there for our dogs because we are having very good success. The cat adoption process is similar but not as involved. We have a shortened application process. At any time the animal can be returned to us if it doesn't work out. The adoption fees cover a portion of the expenses in spay/neuter, vet care, foster care and boarding for some dogs.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs are in foster care in Georgia and Western Washington while we vet, spay, neuter and get to know them. We do regular transports of dogs and puppies rescued from high kill shelters in Georgia. Please go to www.raincityrescue for more info and adoption application. We look forward to meeting you and finding a perfect match for your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of animal lovers who couldn’t “click off” email pleas any longer . We just started saying YES to dogs in need. We are not breed specific, but do love our Pits and Pit mixes who are always the last in the shelters and first in our hearts. We have connected with great trainers, super adopters, the best transporters and people within the rescue community to build a strong network to help these animals. But we are “DOING IT” and “LOVING IT”. Unlike others, we just jumped in and later decided to talk about it!! Keeping our "heads in the sand" did not work for this group of amazing "can-do" women.
