My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bruce was brought in by their previous owner on December 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Bruce! This sweet and playful dog is ready to find his new home. He has lived with cats before and does well with them, making him a great fit for feline friends. He loves being brushed and enjoys a good grooming session, although he's a little scared of hair dryers. Bruce is a medium-energy dog who thrives on walks and hikes, but he's always ready to curl up for a nap afterward. He's crate trained and enjoys hanging out in his "room". He's very food motivated, making him a breeze to train, and he loves playing with squeaky toys and frisbees. At bedtime, Bruce enjoys munching on carrots, his favorite snack. Bruce has been known to resource guard food around other dogs, so a home where he can have his meals to himself would be ideal. If you're looking for a friendly and affectionate dog who will bring joy to your home, Bruce might just be the perfect fit - come meet him today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
