Hi, I'm Rocky! I'm a young Husky gal who's still learning all about the world. Things can be a little scary at times, but with some tasty treats and a gentle approach, I'll warm right up to you and show you my playful side.

I'm a smart girl with lots of energy, so I'd love an active family who can help me burn it all off with long walks, hikes, or even a game of fetch in the yard. Because I'm still young, I'm learning how to use my mouth gently. I might accidentally nibble during playtime, so I'd probably do best in a home with older kids who understand how to interact with dogs.

I can be a little unsure about being touched sometimes, so I need patient people who can go at my pace and learn to read my signals. With the right family and a little understanding, I know I can blossom into the best dog I can be! Could that be with you?

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours. For pets in foster care, apply on that pet at www.multcopets.org

Meet the Pet

At the shelter, adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.

3.
Take the Pet Home

Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adopters will not be able to submit applications to adopt animals in advance, or place adoption holds on animals.

Adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.
We will be unable to assist with pet-to-pet meets. Please keep your furry friends at home, adoptable pets will not be able to meet resident pets at the shelter.
Prepare enough time for your visit. Adopters should expect that it may be up to two (2) hours at the shelter to process an adoption, including meeting pets, an adoption consultation, and waiting periods. Wait times may be significantly longer on weekends.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale. MCAS is a division of the Multnomah County Department of Community Services (DCS).
