Meet Marcus Aurelius! This cutie was surrendered to DPR along with several other guinea pigs when their owners could no longer care for them. Marcus has black and white smooth silky hair with one little cowlick right on the top of his head which makes a little bowl shape, it's adorable. He enjoys being held and pet and is very sweet. He loves when it's time for his daily salad of fresh fruits and veggies. Guinea pigs do well in pairs, and this little guy would probably love to have a piggie buddy at his new home.

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

We care for these pets in our foster homes until proper and stable homes are found through a multi-step adoption process. Our ultimate goal is to match families with our pets so that they live out their lives in loving, educated, safe homes for the remainder of their lives. Our additional goals in rescue are to educate the public in the importance of spaying/neutering and exposing the truth behind pet store puppys and the horrors of puppy mills.
