This little girl had a very rough time of it before she was brought into rescue. As we understand it, she was living in a homeless encampment in the Fresno area when she was attacked by another dog. Although she was severely injured, the folks at Alta Animal Hospital in Clovis, CA were able to save her. She had emergency surgery followed by a lengthy recovery in the hospital before going into another foster home, and eventually to us.
At around 19 pounds, she's a great size, and boy is she energetic and playful. She was a little too bossy with the resident dog in her foster home at first, but is now doing very well at being respectful with her.
Peaches sleeps quietly in her cozy crate indoors at night, walks nicely on leash and rides well in the car. She is doing well with house training, but still needs supervision.
Peaches is a real love once she feels safe, but new people are still scary for her. She is very cautious when meeting new people and needs a while to warm up and feel safe so a very gentle and slow approach is necessary.
Come see this pup during adoption event hours. Please email Linda at lbredfire@sbcglobal.net or call WT&F's Dog Team voicemail 707-812-9030 to get a jump on the process, ask questions, and/or to confirm they will be there. Dog adoptions are held at Napa Petco on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month - 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
This dog comes spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and more with an adoption fee/donation to Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in Napa, CA. See more information at http://whiskerstailsandferals.org/.
