Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
After observing her in the woods for days, rescuers managed to earn the trust of Ivy and was able to trap her. She had been deemed to have some vision issues and hearing deficits. Now with a few weeks at the shelter, we can debunk those assumptions that are not easily tested in dogs. She does have vision and hearing loss. She turns her head towards horses in the paddock, Ivy negotiates the curbs, steps, doors and landscape like any sighted, weaving and letting her nose have a field day, happily walking on leash with the volunteers. As she has grown comfortable, she is learning that any nipping/herding behavior with humans, which is a natural behavior for her breed, should be discouraged.
Beloved when she is being affectionate, but knowing her disabilities, Ivy needs an experienced adopter and would be a great companion to another active dog.
