Born approximately August 13th 2024 Oscar is a male chihuahua mix seeking a forever home.
Here is a little bit about him: he is a parvo survivor- he was found tossed inside a dumpster (most likely because they knew he was sick)
Lucky for him, a kind lady found him and pulled him out, she contacted ARFS and they tested him for parvo. With a positive Parvo diagnosis, they reached out to us.
Oscar is named for the Sesame Street Character who lives in a garbage can by choice, Our Oscar much prefers life inside a house 😊 comfy couch and warm blankets!
His foster mom says Oscar is energetic and sassy and can be vocal. He gets along with cats but likes to pick his canine companions.
Oscar would thrive as the only dog as he yearns for nothing more than human affection.
He is eating from a slow bowl feeder since he's highly food-motivated and eats quickly. He is crate trained, mostly house broken and is working on leash manners.

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.
Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families.
