Name: Nibs
Breed: Pointer / Heeler Mix
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 3 years
Weight: 41 lbs
Good with dogs? Nibs may be best in a single dog household.
Good with cats? Yes, he lived with three foster kittens. He let them lick his face and tried to play with them, and backed off when they wanted space.
Good with kids? Yes, he is good with kids 10+ if they go slow with petting him.
Energy level: Medium. He will play with toys once he feels comfortable in his environment. He enjoys two long walks.
Behavioral needs: Nibs responds well to gentle correction and positive reinforcement. He endured terrible abuse, and although he has no reason to trust people, he will trust a kind, gentle person after spending a few days together. Nibs appreciates a quiet tone of voice. He loves to be pet if you come in slow and let him move to you and pet under, not over, his head. He is fine with strangers as long as they go slow with making friends.
Animal Characteristics: Nibs is a sweet, goofy, playful pup who likes to snuggle on the couch and be near his people during the day. He loves affection and will look to his trusted person for companionship and direction. He is highly intelligent, knows how to sit, and is very easy to train. He is crate trained, and is building up to spending more than three hours at a time free roaming his foster home. Nibs is very quiet and does not bark much, but will speak up when he is ready to come out of his crate and hang out with you! He will get into a car with his person once he trusts them, and will sit quietly and look out the window. Nibs is a wonderful boy who deserves a peaceful, loving forever home!
