Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Lila. Is. So. Cute. Somebody needs to take this girl home! Lila came to us from the Marion County Dog Pound, where she was originally brought in as a stray. After waiting a couple of months, we knew we had to have her and transferred her to our facility!
Lila’s splotchy nose and squishy face make her painfully adorable! She loves to play and will soak up any attention you give her. She likes other dogs and will make a fun addition to your pack!
Lila appears to be deaf, but deaf dogs can easily be trained with hand signals and some extra patience! Any kids in the home will need to understand that Lila can’t hear them, and will need to be careful about sneaking up on her. Lila is super friendly and outgoing, and would likely do well in a home with kids who understand her!More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

More about this shelter
Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
