My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kane is an energetic dog that loves to play! He would love a family who can provide plenty of exercise to burn off some energy. There are times when he can get overstimulated while playing and he could definitely benefit from in home or professional training! He is very quiet and relaxed in his kennel and we have reason to believe that's how he would be in a home given the chance. He loves to snuggle up in his blankets, so he will be a great cuddle buddy for naps! He can be dominant at times and needs a home without small children, dogs, or cats. He is an attention hog and would make a great companion for someone with a lot of time and attention to give to him.

More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
