My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jude!

This handsome boy came to us as a stray so we do not have a history on him. We have learned that he is quite sweet and loves attention! He doesn't seem to be a fan of other cats so he is seeking a home where he will be the only feline. Jude does enjoy going outside so a home where he can get some supervised outdoor time would be great!

Jude isn't a fan of being picked up but loves to sit by your side receiving pets! He can get overstimulated and annoyed so he is seeking a keen owner who can see the signs of him getting overstimulated. He also very much loves his treats and is always eager for some. Jude would love a home where he could be his rambunctious self, but also have a nice warm spot to curl up in.

If Jude seems like a match for you, send us an application or come to the Comox Valley branch to meet him! We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 12-4

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
