Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Greetings, my name is Dakota, and I`m a shy but affectionate fellow who is ready to embark on a new chapter in my life. As a literary-inspired pup, I believe that every story has the potential to be a masterpiece, and I`m eager to write my own tale of adventure and companionship. Despite my initial shyness, I have a heart full of love to share. I may take some time to warm up to new people, but once you`ve earned my trust, you`ll find a loyal and devoted friend who enjoys snuggling up with a good book and a gentle pat on the head. I may not be the life of the party, but I promise to be a faithful and loving companion who will always be there to listen to your stories and share in your dreams. I am full grown at ~60lbs. How did I get here? Adopted and returned to the SPCA when my family could no longer care for me.
~My adoption fee is $120.00.~

More about this rescue
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home. Each year the SPCA rehomes over 3,500 animals through its innovative adoption programs.
The mission of the SPCA is to transform the lives of pets and people through protection, care, education, and adoption.
The SPCA of Wake County is a local, independent, non-profit organization that receives no government funding or tax dollars. We rely almost entirely on private donations to fund our annual operating budget of $3 million. The SPCA of Wake County is not affiliated with, nor do we receive funding from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
