BERNARD - 8+ years old, 50 pounds, friendly
Bernard is a return resident of VBACAC. We only recently found him in a nearby shelter after he was adopted from us over a year ago.
He's now back with us and although we have no additional information on what he's been through or what happened, he still seems to be a friendly, easy going boy.
Despite his advanced age (we're guessing over 8 years old) he trotted around the yard chasing tennis balls and running around with them. He was pretty much entertaining himself, running back to me here and there just for some extra attention. He is still a bit nervous when you reach over his head to put the leash on but slow and steady wins the race and slow and steady wins the hearts.
I imagine he would be good with children as long as they are respectful of his food and toys and as long as children do not try to take food or toys away from him. Supervision is so important when it comes to children and pets.
Bernard is the dog who, with a little time for play and exercise, will be content lying by your side or taking a little car ride, as long as it's near you.
Come on out to meet this experienced boy, one who is used to being in a home with a family! He is currently in our medium dog adoption kennel and we are open daily 12-5 pm.
